Review of Algonquin, Illinois

Algonquin Illinois
Star Rating - 2/21/2007
Algonquin is a far northwest suburb of Chicago north of Elgin IL off of I90. The western part of Algonquin has shown significant growth and expansion over the past few years as real estate is resonably priced for Chicago area (Randall Road corridor). Every available retail outlet is available and more springly up every day. School system is good (Huntley) and there are a lot of young families in the area. The old Algonquin downtown is showing signs of revitalization alone the Fox River. East Algonquin has been slower developing and less retail available to residents thus requiring a drive (~5 miles) to the western part of town off of Randall and Algonquin Roads.

Overall we have lived in Algonquin for 5 years and have been pleased with the decision. The quality of life in Algonquin is very high due to cost of living and surrounding activities & schools.
