Aloha Bend Lurkers, I like to update my post every so often for those of you looking for the truth about Bend Oregon...My wife and I moved here 7 years ago with our 3 kids (now teenage adults). We're from Orange County California, like 80% of Bend we all came here for the community and the beauty. Bend does not disappoint, WE have a great community, so if you're a hater, please don't even bother considering Bend. Bend is a place where your neighbors truly are your neighbors, we say hi, we help each other out on bad snow days and we like to have fun both indoors and outdoors. If you like the outdoors, we have epic amazing skiing, trails for hiking or running, and lots of great places to eat or drink beer...Then Bend is your Mecca! We have great schools as well as stores for shopping...We have all the usual suspects for groceries, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Market of Choice Fred Meyers etc...The only bent I have on Bend is if you need your city fix Portland is 3 hours a way. Oh, and if you don't have work already, before coming to Bend, good luck with that. We have tons of hospitality jobs, so no problem there, but if your looking for a corporate job not so easy. You pretty much have to import your job, work remotely, or as stated work in hospitality. I am a fourth generation local. You know...those people you Californians can't stand. You are the very type of people who have ruined our once beautiful, quiet little town. Your post is total BS and sounds like the typical California real estate broker ad! Californians suck and native Bendites want them all gone!!!! The truth is you and your fellow Californians don't care about Bend. You came here to sell it off piece by piece to the highest bidder, and now Oregonians can't even afford to live in their own hometowns. You don't this to Portland as well. I bet at least one person in your home sells real estate. Only a Californian would post an email contact. Always plugging for your money making mindset. You talk about outdoor fun yet we can't even enjoy a local park or trail due to the overflowing parking lots and jerks who destroy every bit of nature we used to have here. Who cares about great places to drink beer???? Like we need more horrible drivers texting and running red lights? Yeh, let them drive drunk too! The worst part is once you people get here, you continually have more of your friend and family relocate here so the invasion never ends. We are inundated with Californians now to the point of no return. California used to be a beautiful state but you all loved it to death, turned it into a cesspool, and allowed your liberal political views to change it forever. Now you are doing the same thing to my hometown. I just wish you would all leave and stop moving here for good!
