Review of Benson, North Carolina

A town that need a Make-Over...
Star Rating - 10/7/2022
Benson is located at the crossroads of 95 and 40 which should be a bustling location full of life, progress, dining and entertainment. Unfortunately Benson has been close-minded and stuck in a rut that's resulted in empty, dilapidated or non-entertainment / non-dining businesses downtown. The town is empty by 7pm most evenings unless some over religious activity is going on where being seen by others is more important then actual faith.

The annual Mule Days seem to attract a crowd of the good ol'boys which the town focuses on to try to recoup revenue lost the rest of the year but again if you been to one it's the same routine every year with the same acts.

If you have children there are very few activities for you to take them to unless you leave Benson. Recreational areas again are not a focus for this town. There is a mediocre playground, members only city pool and aged city gymnasium. If your looking for a town the embraces growth, a social downtown and activities Benson is not for you.

The plus side is housing and land are relatively still cheap and you can easily drive out of Benson to a more accommodating town to spend your time and money.
