Boise is a potential retirement destination for me and my wife. Also considering Arizona. We are from Long Island, NY (Suffolk Co.). My pension is not enough to support us here, because the phony and crooked politicians and real estate people have made it so expensive with house prices, property taxes, etc. Many people here are struggling, but the media only shows you the rich snobs from New York, not the working stiffs. Anyway, I hope you people in Boise are watching your political officials very closely. Be careful how they spend your tax money, if they hire cronies and relatives for government jobs, and who benefits, and who gets ultimately screwed. I would like to know if areas of boise city are prone to flooding from the Boise River, and anything else somebody has to add about the pluses and minuses of moving to Boise. No place on earth is perfect, but looks like Boise is more affordable than many other areas.
