High cost of living, dysfunctional state government, on the verge of total collapse. Of course on the other side, great weather, awesome coast and mountains. Something for everyone. Then the politicians sold it to the highest bidder.

I grew up in Modesto which is close to Stockton, I agree with Ron 100%. It boils down to making a choice about what is important. For me it is my daughter I believe we can find a better quality of life else where. My son is a Marine and moved to North Carolina we may try that.
