Minimum Wage

10/20/2012
As of January 1, 2012 the minimum wage for California is $9.00 per hour. Since the economy is down this what you can expect to make even with a Bachelors in Business Administration, and a work experience that starts late of 2004 till 2012 in customer service and accounting. I created an estimate on how much it really takes to live in this state. I live in a small town so you would think it would be cheaper nope no such thing in California.
If you make $8.00hr and are lucky to get 40hrs a week you would make $14360 gross pay each year if you are single and have no children. Rent on average is $650 a month that would be $7800 a year. Plus a phone if you can afford one $50 dollars a month that is $600 a year. Food on average based on what welfare will give is $200 a month, that is $2400 a year. If you are a student in this economy expect to pay a minimum of $500 a month that is $6,000 a year. Utilities about $500 a month another $6,000 a year. Gas for the car about $200 a month on estimate if you have a good economy car and don't drive much that is $2,400 a year of course that is all you can spend for gas because you need to get back and forth to work. Toiletries and necessary things if you are frugal $50 a month that is another $600 a year oh yes if you are still a student $15 dollars a month for internet thats another $180 a year.
Totals= $25,980 leaving you -19,980 dollars in debt.
You can't really get rid of school loans since you were promised thorughout highschool that it would be worth it some day so you let the loans climb till you are done. So the $6,000 is there to stay. Now you can turn your phone off that is -$600 oh and maybe start taking the bus everywhere -2040 you would save on gas. Rent doesn't go lower than that so you can't save on that. You are still $23340 dollars in debt.
Many people like me are not available for assistance since I am a college student they don't see me as someone who has time to work so assistance isn't available. Maybe if I cut my food bill in half but wait I would still be short $22140. I can not cut back anymore because I am woman and I need toiletries. Utilities can't be cut back anymore nothing else so I can get another full time job. 80 hrs a week oh yeah but guess what not many companies hire full time anymore so I would be lucky to get 40hrs making minimum wage. If you are under 40 hrs you are not eligible for benefits so it saves most companies money.
I have been going to school for along ti
