I am fortunate enough to have two homes in California......one in the East Bay and one in the Gold Country less than thirty miles from Yosemite. The real beauty of California lies in the plethora of options for exploration. I am quite easily between 45 minutes and three hours from some of our country's most beautiful places: San Francisco, Big Sur, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, THE wine country....just to name a few. The only downside is the expense of living in the proximity. It is very likely that I will keep the mountain home for winter visits and retirement, but move to a more economically feasible community.
