I absolutely agree. I am in Spartanburg, SC and I agree about the medical care. Keep in mind that the Original comment was written 3 years ago. So, things have not changed. I lost my mother here two years ago. She went to emergency and laid in the hospital for 24 hours with internal bleeding before she even received any kind of care. Unfortunately, She never came home from the hospital and died there. The doctors were dismissive and nonchalant as if they could care less.
I have had my own health challenges since moving here, which required me to visit a slew of doctors who did nothing for me but run up a medical tab.
Had it not been for the grace of God I might not even be here typing this comment. Up north my doctors were compassionate and they actually cared about people. I even had my doctor call me when I relocated down South. Even she was worried about the quality of care I would receive here.
I know many others who have lost people here under this crumbling healthcare system, not just older people, young people as well. Prior to this I lived up north and the difference in healthcare is astonishing.
South Carolina needs a complete healthcare overhaul. My advice is to find somewhere else to move to where your health and family's health will be valued. Its not about having money here either. Wealth or no wealth, the health care is the same for everyone here
