Pretty, Easy City

Very new transplant (~6 weeks) so first impressions and reasons why I moved here:
-great year-round weather, if you don't mind humidity-- less hot in summer than TX/AZ and less snowy in winter than Chi/Colorado Springs.
-Super divided in terms of how pretty/clean it is, crime, etc. The nice areas are beautiful and the other areas fall off fast without a ton in between.
-<1 hour to the lake, 1-2 hours to mountains, ~3 hours to the beach
-Coming from a large northern city I was worried about anywhere feeling too Southern but it's a ton of transplants. I have yet to meet someone actually from Charlotte.
-It does feel really sterile, culturally, compared to Austin/Chicago/LA. That said, I think it's a little unfair to compare it to Asheville/Charleston etc. because those places are chock full of charm in a very /touristy/ way
-Also no really walkable neighborhoods-- the "giant suburb" criticisms aren't wrong
-I wouldn't say boring, though (...and a lot of those comments come from people in the DEEP burbs)-- I like that it's a big enough city I can easily find lots of people who like the same hobbies as me, etc. and there's been something fun going on every weekend I've been here.
