I visited Chesapeake and the Virginia Beach area for the fist time this month, and I really liked it. It is a very cute area with lots of neat stores and things to do. The people were much nicer there than they are in the East, people say "Sir" and "Ma'am", "excuse me" and have manners that are tough to find some places. The whole week I was there I only saw 1 guy act like a jackass, screaming and cursing at someone for being in his way in a parking lot, and he was from out of state anyway. As for the weather, it does get pretty hot and DARN humid, the humidity being the one main thing I could live without. All in all, a neat area that I could settle in, which is saying a lot since I have never liked any other part of Virginia, and I have lived in several.
