Politics and Religion

While I am a conservative from Texas, I find the adversity of the hard working christian (Predominantly Catholic) population as a whole to be true and honest. However, to a person, the population that has been born and raised here will vote Democrat based on what the family has always voted. I find several persons of faith that disavow abortion and big government voting for the Democratic ticket at the national and state level. This had me flummoxed as to why a anti-abortionist would vote for Obama knowing full well that he is for pro-abortion and big government.
I have asked several times and have yet to have a concrete reply based on idea. Instead I get "Well he is better then Bush", who incidentally was not running against Obama or running against anyone for that matter.
I have issues with a person that sets aside there ethos to attempt to gain monetary leverage.
All in all, it is beautiful country side and a wholesome atmosphere, crime is relatively small and the cost of living is very similar to what we had in Texas.
