Pay Stinks, Housing is way to expensive

Make $8 an hour as a paralegal or an accountant. You might as well work fast food and not have the headaches. Gas tax is 40 cents on a gallon making gas around $2.50 (3/3/2006) housing is a joke. you cant find anything to rent, and what you do is $800 a month for a clean place. $400 for a dive. $50,000 will buy you a house that you would have to fix before moving in. Live in a single wide trailer on a small lot and spend $100,000. There is nothing to do here unless all you ever want to do is fish and hunt and camp.
Most people here Need 2 or 3 jobs to make it. People that have income from out of the area are the only ones that really make it well here. A lot move here from CA and such. weather is ok.
Been in western Colorado for 31 years. TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE. I make my money online and my home is paid for so I actually am living much better then most here but I have never really liked it here. If your looking for a place to move AND find work, Western Colorado is not the place (unless your in construction) for some reason people are moving here
Fortunately though, enough new people have moved in that the good-ol-boy way of government is slowly going away, as the people moving here from places like CA don't tolerate that kind of garbage. So in the last 10 years a lot of the hick mentality here is starting to finally disappear
