Eau Claire ("Oh Clear" French for Clear Water)

I was born in Spokane, Washington but we moved to Eau Claire when I was no more than 2 years old, so you can bet that all I remember is Eau Claire and Chippewa. I went to headstart through college in Eau Claire and I can definitely tell you, EC is a blossoming city. Eau Claire has developed over quite the years, downtown is modern with a mix of it's vintage touch. EC is a hip city for the young; a revitalized arts center brings a beautiful touch to the Chippewa river on Phoenix Park. New business opening and technology slowly becoming a part of the industry where the working class works in manufacturing, dairy, transportation jobs with 4 big hospitals, Mayo, Marshfield, HSHS (Sacred Heart and St Josephs in Chippewa). EC is considered a suitcase town; a college town but also a beautiful urban area for retirees.
To me, EC is a safe city. You get your casual domestic abuse, noise complaints but not a lot of "gun" related crimes, but take me word for it when there is some; not as bad as big cities.
EC isn't a small town, nor is it a "big" town. Imagine being Goldilocks in the 3 bear's home, it's just right. I recommend Eau Claire for new families; it's a beautiful city to raise your children and to retire in.
