Dixie Highway

The Dixie Highway is the main route between Elizabethtown and Fort Knox. Almost all of the shopping and service centers are located along this route. The problem is that this route was designed when Elizabethtown, Rineyville, and Radcliff had much less people and less business. The route has too many stop lights that make a 17 mile trip take 40 minutes on average. There are plans to create a high-speed bypass, but it may be several years before it is complete.
