Review of Fayetteville, Arkansas

Fayetteville is fabulous, these folks have no clue
Star Rating - 1/30/2009
I moved to Fayetteville about a year ago from Asheville, NC. This place is great. Very nice people, surprisingly progressive, there are seriously "green" here, they recycle everything. The place is pretty, rolling hills, in the foothills of the Ozarks. The University of Arkansa is here. The city library is unreal, the finest I've ever seen in a city this size. Houses are reasonable, and people have pride in ownership. Every good food chain is here including Bonefish and Ruths Chris. The local restaurants, my favorites, are outstanding, from the best burger in the world at "Hugo's" to the best italian "Bordino's" to the best seafood "Cafe Rue Orleans" and "Mermaids", the food in Fayetteville rocks. Free concerts in the park in summer, great music nightly on Dickson Street, even for an older guy like me "happy hour" bands at George's Majestic, a great live music venue. Ammenities like Lake Fayetteville, great shopping. I can't believe what these other writers wrote??? JCB

Jerry, is there something wrong with you or what? Fayetteville library is considered one of the best small city libraries in the country, awarded library of the year in 05. "Deep fried food" there are tons of "healthy" restaurants here. "I guess you havent lived there long enough for any of those drivers to crash into you and crack your back, yet." I have never seen a car accident in Fayetteville in 18 months, what on earth are you talking about? your quote "When you go to the grocery, have you not noticed that men over 40 actually spit in public and sometimes it almost splatters on you. Do you realize how unhealthy that is?" Like spitting is done only in Fayetteville?, man your need to relax. Fayetteville is a very nice small city, with a lot of money. The recession really never hit hard here, we were insulated due to the college and Wal-Mart headquarters. This is my 11th city since school, and certainly one of the nicest.

The library building is nice (except for the neighborhood) and it has a coffee shop, but serious readers will tell you that it takes a lot more than that. My wife reads about 10 books a month and she says the Fay library is decades behind ours in terms of technology and online access. Have you made any guy friends there yet that are not gay or drunks or sleezes? I mean guys to actually hang out with and play tennis, golf, or something. You will find that they do those things mainly with their "kinfolk". If you like unhealthy food, such as burgers made with very fatty grades of ground beef and desserts made with extra refined ground sugar, then you can easily pick up some weight by eating in Fayetteville. If you like deep fried food, then go for it. I am in my fifties, medium height, weigh under 200 and staying below 200. I guess you havent lived there long enough for any of those drivers to crash into you and crack your back, yet. But surely you have noticed a lot of wrecks and a lot of people almost running into you. When you go to the grocery, have you not noticed that men over 40 actually spit in public and sometimes it almost splatters on you. Do you realize how unhealthy that is?
