Review of Fayetteville, Arkansas

Not all things to all people
Star Rating - 8/7/2007
Having read most of the commentary about my fair city, I can say that there is merit to most all of it. Some of the people who were born here (I wasn't) think that they are owed the spoils of the new found progress and success of the region. And yes some are even isolationists; preferring to spend thier free time with those they have known. However, this is not reflective of a majority of the residence since the "boom" began and more and more nonnatives have moved to the area. The infrastructure is also trying to catch up with the growth, and will require patience for commuters. If you moved here from a larger metro area to NW AR you will find that sophistication and culture vary widely, but don't be fooled by the accent. There are a lot of smart people here that have made great sums of money that could live anywhere they choose. Someone that makes thier home here is probably going to like most places with clean air and water, abundant opportunites, and friendly people who still care about their neighbors. You can be unhappy anywhere......
