Low crime?

I have read several postings that mention Fayetteville's crime rate as being one of the reasons to live there. Sperling posts crime rates. Fayetteville rates 4 and 5, the US rates 3 and 3, and low numbers mean low crime. I would, though, have to agree that Fayetteville's crime rates are one of the best reasons I could think of to live there, as opposed to its traffic fatality rates, the pct of its pop that speaks intelligible and correct english, the pct of its pop of 55 year old men who are open to new friendships with 55 year old guys from the west, the harsh climate (compare to Seattle), the quality of construction there, the lack of govt regulation and law enforcement, the redness of the state of AR, the redneckness of the state of AR, the idiocy of the states road work policies (doing 180 mile stretch at a time instead of 20 miles on I-40), the high divorce, smoking, bankruptcy and obesity rates, etc. To sum up, altho Fay's crime rates are considerably higher than the rates for the US as a whole, the crime rate is one of the few things Fay has to offer to a childless only child in his fifties. If you happen to be a rupublican in your thirties with small children, you may like it a little better - for now.
