It costs a lot to live here

South Florida is getting more and more expensive -especially housing. Middle class families are starting to move away because they can't deal with the housing costs. Those who work in civil service jobs such as police, firefighters, teachers, etc. are also leaving for the same reason. Teachers are especially vunerable since Florida salaries for that profession are exceptionally low. If this trend continues, only the very poor and the very rich will live down here. This has been happening in Miami for years already. Fort Lauderdale is very likely to be the same.
