Friendly Fort Worth

Hi, I live in the North part of Fort Worth, just 9 miles north of Downtown. I LOVE Fort Worth, alhough I'm from Louisiana and miss many things from my hometown, next door to New Orleans. The City of Fort Worth is warm, friendly and kind. I call it "Friendly Fort Worth". On a scale 1 (bad) to 10 (Great) considering those assets I mentioned, I would say it's a 8. I lived in Houston for 9 yrs before Fort Worth and it wasn't a city for me, had nothing to do with traffic. I have NO problem with traffic or big city. Fort Worth is like a City that is still like a Country in many ways with the spread out land, parks, traditions etc. I believe it should be given A LOT more Credit as a City for it's housing is inexpensive and the Job Market is GOOD! A Single person can have a house here for the apartments rent is almost as much as a house's mortgage. It's VERY Possible to have 'The American Dream' in Fort Worth still today in late 2008, with all the financial problems with the US economy and housing market. Those problems are here of course but very little compared to other places. I think that's why people here are Happy. I lived in a Doomed area before and it's so stressful on people it gets depressing all around you. Not here in Fort Worth. We are Happy people!
(From author: I'm 52 yrs. old and have extensive traveling on the whole EAST 1/2 of Texas due to work at times. I have also in my 30's traveled all over the US for pleasure trips, so I have been around when it comes to traveling and staying in some places for 6 months at a time!)
