Can't beat cost of living but the summers are horr

I've compared so many city on Sperling's, trying to find a city to move to because the summers in Texas are so brutally hot. Unfortunately, the combination of no state tax, the low cost of housing and a healthier job market from the rest of the country makes Texas (esp. the Dallas/Fort Worth area) one of the best places to live financially. Every summer I wish I was somewhere else, every summer I stay. And winters are very mild, whith only a few realy bad days, so it tries to make up for it.
