I was born and raised in Manhattan, 82nd Columbus Ave to be exact. I moved to Tennessee with my parents in 1995 because they wanted their children out of NYC. We are not conservatives nor liberals, and we do believe in God. It was a BIG culture shock at first, racism, rudeness, confederate flag, Hillbillies and I could go on. I can tell you Pamela, that you are not wrong nor right. My dad used to say "there are stupid people everywhere", you just surround yourself with good people. Well I have lived in TN for 23yrs and I have amazing friends, many are super religious. My husband and I raised 3 amazing children in Mt Juliet and Franklin. The way the world is going, we have to find a safe, loving, family-oriented place to raise our families. I want to say that those who were rude in their comments, you just proved Pamela's point! Are you all familiar with the phrase "kill them with kindness". It is imperative that you don't give TN a bad name. You live here, you should spread the love and kindness God tells you about in the bible. One thing that is very important, you cannot impose God to a person. We are ALL his children no matter whether someone wants to go to church or not. So dear Pamela, I wish you well and I am positive you will find your happy place soon. Take care.
