Review of Hines, Oregon

Town in it's death throes
Star Rating - 2/15/2018
Hines is pretty nigh inseparable from Burns...its basically the same miserable little town and overall garbage places to live. There is absolutely nowhere to rent with empty houses everywhere because the owners are desperate to sell. The weather is frigid most of the year and if you are lucky enough to actually score a place to live, the heathens that built here didn't believe in central heating...there are fire sirens at least once a month from those same people burning their houses down around their ears. The forests burn during the summer and there is smoke everywhere, if you have respiratory issues this is not the place for you! The groceries, housing, gas...pretty much everything is super expensive. The eateries are sub-par and over-priced, so if you move here learn to cook. The nearest department store is 2 1/2 hours away through desolation, so better not break down! And if you do break down the mechanics here will gouge you and not fix it properly (hint-their name rhymes with shekels). The population is basically: government workers who are trapped here and actively trying to escape, frothing-at-the-mouth racist white militants, welfare-lifers that move here for benefits and some very nice Native Americans. This town has absolutely no redeeming qualities...its not even scenic!
