Ever since moving to the city in 2003 from Downtown Miami, I've been treated with respect and made to feel welcomed by the residents everywhere I go. I've been fortunate to have lived in several cities throughout the country and Homestead does not stand out as being any better or worse than say Virginia Beach, VA or San Diego CA. Two cities which I found to be welcoming as well. Today, Homestead is a crossroads of cultures due to its proximity to Miami, FL, gateway to the Americas. Homestead is not by any means the bustling metropolitan area of Miami proper but if you're looking for a laid back place to raise your family and still be within a short drive from the world famous beaches of South Beach while also close to fishing and scuba diving in the Keys then Homestead is the city for you.
