Only thing good about Florida is Disney World, Universal, Island of Adbusters, Lego Land, Colleges, and 95. As a mom, you must do your research on K-12 schools. Alot of places are F, D, and C rated schools. Extended stay for kids that have parents that work is expensive. In Jacksonville you would want to be in the Southside/Mandarin area for schooling or just in general. People can not drive here. Traffic can get pretty bad. The economic market here is still bad after the recession. Florida is considered a

Jasmine, I read your comments and get scared :-( I live in CT and my son will go to College soon, so, wife and I are planning to sell here and buy in FL. I was thinking of the following: Jacksonville, Daytona and Cocoa Beach in the East Coast. We also heard that Fort Meyers (specifically, Cape Coral) in the West Coast would be a good choice... Now, can you tell me a bit more about FL life...I am 55 and wife 48, so we are still active and enjoy HOT WEATHER and Beaches, as we are Brazilians. Thanks a lot and hope to hear from you or anyone else out there. Cheers Luiz

For the person asking about Florida that is Brazilian, I think you would love it here. I have lived in NE Florida my entire life. Born and Raised. There are a lot of people who drive badly and are inconsiderate. There is also a lot of issues with our city government. They build the houses too close together here, in my opinion. But, Name a place that doesn’t have any issues at all. I personally find Jax and the surrounding areas to Daytona and out to Gainesville, and north to Ga Kingsland and St Mary’s very charming in their own way. I don’t see much racism here, my perspective so I do not need any ‘advice’ thank you. We are a motor cycle riding family and enjoy getting out and finding new small businesses to support. Life is what you make it wherever you goI feel. Come on down, I am not certain how old this post is, but hit me up when you get here! I love making new friends ??

I have 3 years living in Jacksonville, FL and agree, can't tell about schools but can say for people that want to go to college and don't know the English language get a good college that have ESOL is mission impossible my daughter in law have almost a year trying to get a college that offer ESOL due that she dont speak and dont understand English and have been a very bad and frustrating experience for her. Related to rents best places are Southside and rents arent so cheap, and cheaper places in good areas is hard to find. I live beside the I95 ramp and there none public transportation at all but Uber. Lots of malls very nice, beaches are beautiful but at least in Jax Beach is not so safe lots of sharks in it. And there are jobs everywhere, pay is ok but not enough to pay bills, car insurance and all expenses. Traffic jam is crazy. Cant wait to see the day I can move out of FL. Oh! Last thing if you suffer of asthma is not the best place for u.
