Review of Knoxville, Tennessee

Wonderful place.
Star Rating - 10/2/2012
I have lived in Knoxville since 1994. I moved from Fresno, CA after retiring from a career in Law Enforcement. The quality of life is so high here it's off the charts. I actually picked Knoxville as a place to retire and I'm glad I did. Wouldn't live anywhere else. Lots of activities for families and I'm never bored with plenty to do in this part of the world.

Hey Glen, I read your comments here and have to ask how it is going in Knoxville as we are considering relocating there from Ks. Reading some of these comments makes me wonder if we are making a mistake, but yours was very positive. Living in Wichita Ks and now an empty nester... The knoxville area looks appealing to us because of all the outdoor activities. Riding our Harley, off roading, boating. My better half is from SC (So if people there really don't like people from the north, maybe they'll accept me because of here...lol) anyway, we would be some what between our grown kids. I love that part of country there as far as I know...lol. We've road the whole Blue Ridge Parkway once and have rode on it severial times. When peopke say there's nothing to do there... I think try Wichita, there are things to do here but the activities we enjoy doing are a minimum of 3 to 5 hrs away for good riding etc. We want to live close to quality outdoor activities and scenery. My better half has a great resume in production management and has recently (over the weekend) posted on Monster and sent out a couple of resumes as there were a few jobs in that area. I've always worked construction, production etc, it looks like there is work there. I own my home so when it sells we'd like to find something in the 100-150K range on at least an acre. Looking at listings I've found nearly 70 that would possibly work...any thoughts? Your eyes are probably getting tired read my rambelings.. Thank you!!!
