I've lived in Lawton, Oklahoma my whole life so I can honestly say it has definitely improved. From the many new restaurants, to all the new shopping establishments, Lawton is definitely a place I would recommend moving to. As for the crime I believe over the last few years it has improved greatly. As with any city, there are still a few sketchy parts of town, but I choose not to go to those places. So all in all, I do feel Lawton is a safe place to live. If you're looking for a little extra adventure, plan a day of hiking at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge (ranked the best Wildlife Refuge in the US in 2015) it truly is a beautiful place to explore.
