Lawton is a sh*thole, plain and simple. It is like a mini LA, but without all the good stuff. Nothing here but lazy, fat, miserable, low-lifes living off the government. The military is what keeps this town from disappearing from the map. The military gets all the blame for the rundown, crime-ridden nature of Lawton, when in actuality it is the trashy locals who make this place so unbearable. I lived in Lawton for four years and moved to Elgin to escape the madness. Elgin is a nice, VERY SMALL town, but I like that about it. I only come to Lawton when I absolutely have no other choice. The roads are pathetic, the cost of living is high for what there is to offer here, and the schools are pathetic. Once my husband retires from the military in a few years, we are so OUTTA HERE!! The only thing that would improve this city is an atomic bomb.
