It's OK, hope you like sports

Lot's of bike trails, some lakes nearby that tend to be crowded on weekends during the summer as there is not enough of them. Arts and humanities are decent but underused and unappriciated by most people so they do not recieve the funding to stand out for the size of the city. The university has an art gallery that is quite good. I hope you like sports (I do) as the beloved Cornhuskers dominate everything else (including weddings being shceduled) during football season. Beautiful little gem of a baseball stadium called Haymarket Park where Nebraska plays from March to late May and then the Semi-Pro Saltdogs play during the summer. Great place to take the kids for a reasonably priced (if you eat before you come) night out. The Lincoln Stars are a Semi-Pro hockey team with a good tradition that plays just north of downtown at the Ice Box located on the State Fairgrounds. However, before taking your family to a game consider that it must be easier to get tickes if you are well versed in reciting the less genteel areas of the English language while drinking yourself three sheets to the wind. Not an unusual occurnace at many sporting events, but does stand out here.
