Trying to get out of Lincoln

It's true, Lincoln is somewhat of a clean place to live, and there are some nice people here, and there is even a good mix of diversity to boot, however, if you are a minority and not in the "upper class" you will feel it. The city is friendly only to those who are of higher income, and you will feel many prejudices if you are a minority. Many racial slurs are still used by the older generation here, and has trickled down to the family they leave behind. The taxes here are outrageous, but they do have a good school system. The average cost of a house is also decent, but you aren't going to get the greatest in quality. The crime rate has gotten out of control because of all the meth heads that live in this town, so be prepared to have your radio stolen out of your car if you don't have a garage to store it in. Then there's the snow! While the city tries to stay on top of plowing the snow in the neighborhoods, the poorer areas, such as downtown get screwed. This town is not ready for diversity because of all the ignorance, and they love their Husker football more than anything and make you feel like an outsider if you don't give a crap about the football team. However, if you love to be lazy and live off the system, this is a great place to live:)
