Working in LR

I drive every day to work in LR from Conway and I occassionally go shopping here. Traffic is terrible on the weekdays and bumper to bumper during rush hours. Since I have looked into what it would be like to live in CA I would think the person questioning a move from CA to AR would find the cost of living much, much cheaper. My house in Conway is 1700 sq. ft, all brick, about 8 years old and was purchased at less that $120,000. This house would probably sell now at just under $150,000. For that price range in CA I would live in a cardboard box I think.
