Very Difficult Community To Live In

We relocated here a year ago and would not recomend this place to live. This review is provided so that if you decide on this area to live just be aware of what you may encounter. It is very expensive and a difficult place to live. Obtaining needed repair/other quality services is almost impossible. Customer service is very much lacking when trying to do business here. Senior friendly stores and services are few. Some store doors are so heavy/old you can hardly open them. The wind blows a lot and it is cold frequently because of the moist ocean fog. The weather is not near as good as the natives talk about. You must drive 25 - 50 miles to obtain decent shopping and some very needed services. Basic stoes in most communities are not in Lompoc. There is a lack of decent resturants and a variety of cusine to choose from.
While others may have a different experience living here, ours has been very difficult. General things become very difficult to accomplish, are made overly complex, and frequently have to be reaccomplished in this community. Frequently your customer interfaces leave you with the feeling that they really don't care about providing efficient and quality services.
Would not recommend retiring here.
The Village Country Club is the exception. It is an outstanding golf course and the people are great!
