Moved here about a year ago from Atlanta. Lots to like--no traffic, clean air, low cost of living. Plenty of doctors and hospitals. Shopping and good restaurants are limited. Definitely does not have the cosmopolitan feel of larger cities. Overall, public schools aren't great, although there are exceptions. Lots of private schools. Like any city, Macon has advantages and disadvantages.
