This area is getting more and more congested but is still a true Florida experience with the ocean just a bridge island hop away. I would advise caution walking alone just about anywhere in the area though as the crime rate is pretty high. Rents are going up too.

I posted a one star rating with an honest review of living on Merritt Island in 2017. They did not post it. Apparently, the facts of overpopulation, water pollution, crime, overpriced real estate, etc. is not news the Chamber of Commerce, Real Estate Industry and Banking Conglomerates want you to know? If you like sprawl, pollution, I.e., Miami...Orlando ....you will love Merritt Island.
