Good size city with a small town feel

I've lived in Milwaukee for 10 years. I really enjoy how you can get anywhere around the city in 20 mins. or less. Being a lakefront city, I love going to the wide variety of events by the lake. The people are wonderful and friendly. There is a nice variety of restaurants, art and entertainment, but it's also easy to head to Chicago for a night for a bigger selection. I really like how the airport and train station are very accessible as well.
