Disappointed

Im going to keep it real. There are certain aspects of living in Nashville that are not too appealing. For example, if you don't belong to a church you have absolutely no chance of become successful in any way shape form or fashion. Nashvillians are obsessed with churh. You cannot have an intelligent conversation without the subject surfacing. Unfortunately, this forces some to dwell among the devil worshipping churchgoers. If you are not willing to join some type of religious organization, Nashville is not the place to be. I am not against church, but against how it is run and how people use God's name to make a profit. I worked 5 years and could not get promoted or a raise because I did not belong to a religious organization. People can tell by a person's actions if they are good spirited or a God fearing person. I find something terribly wrong when one minute people are talking about zombies, witches, vampires, etc. and the next they talk about and attend church. People should not be coerced into joining church to get a raise or promotion. This is not the American way!
To add to it the racism and sexism is at an all time high. You would think that since some of the most horrific moments in the civil rights movement happend in the south race relations would have changed or improved. Instead, the whites make racist comments and the blacks continue to speak as if nothing ever occurred. White folks make it blatantly obvious that they do not like blacks and only tolerate them. However, blacks try to force conversations and so on which is quite embarrassing.
The last note: Ladies if you want a man that likes to lower women's self-esteem, Nashville is the place to be. The way that men speak to women is a disgrace. They find a confident woman and want to belittle her any way they can.
Don't get me wrong racism and sexism is on every corner of the earth. The religious aspect is what really got me since I am educated qualified hardworking competent and God fearing.
