Review of Nashville, Tennessee

A City that gets you where You're going
Star Rating - 1/16/2007
As I native Nashvillian I have plenty to comment about. The quality of life in the Nashville Area is outstanding. Housing is affordable, and the economy looks brighter each day. Here we boast about our low unemployment rates, an increasingly diverse population, and top schools throughtout the 15 and growing counties. (M.L. King High, Williamson County Schools, Sumner County Schools, Hume Fogg High, etc)

Nashville isnt called the "Athens of the South" for no reason. There are about 30 colleges in the area. Vanderbilt, Fisk University, TN State Univ., Belmont University, etc. We are credited in creating the first public school system in the south.

I can't write about Nashville or "The Ville" without mentioning religion. We are called the Buckle of the Bible Belt as we are home to dozens of MEGACHURCHES. Mt Zion Baptist Church has over 20,000 member and 4 locations. 3 in Nashville and 1 in Jackson, TN.( right outside of Memphis)Other notable ministries are Conerstone Church, Born Again Church, Bellevue Baptist, etc

Traffic is a concern because 600,000 people live in Davidson, County, however close to 1.5 million live in our surrounding counties. However, with this being true, city officials have opened a commuter rail(Music City Star) that has opened and is looking to expand a.s.a.p.

Of course every city has bad parts of town, however, Nashville is revitalizing these districts.(gentrification) as these areas are becoming condos, lofts, and remodeled homes.(East Nashville, North Nashville, West Nashville, however South Nashville has led the way. South nashville is growing rapidly because it is close to the airport and is not a hilly as other parts of our city located on the Cumberland River.

Entertainment wise, we are more that country music. Clubs along 2nd ave. downtown offer a variety of venues for residents and visitors. With the increased demand for urban life, the Signature Tower is being built as I type this. It will be the tallest building in the US outside of NYC and Chicago. This will give Miami, Houston, and Atlanta a run for their money!

Headquarters move here frequently and I know why. Nashvillians are some of the most friendly people encountered, unlike other growing southern cities.(Nissan, HCA, etc)

THe only drawback is Currently this is no amusement park and the traffice. However, in the next 3-5 years these two negatives will surely be things of the past.

Shopping is a favorite amongst Nashvillians as we have severa
