Nashville is Great: just not a place for SINGLES

First, let me say Nashville is great. Weather is good (if you like snow, go somewhere else), there's plenty of things to do whether you are wanting to go outside or stay inside. It's the perfect place for families and relatively low crime. Here's my problem: I'm a single white female in my mid-twenties. I didn't go to college in Nashville and I have no interest in pursuing a career in the music business. To go out and meet other singles, your options are going to frat-bars with all of the Vandy kids, go to local places in your neighborhood where you will see the same locals every week - making you feel like you are in a tiny town, go to a loud honky tonk with tourists, or, if you are desperate for a fun, club-scene, you have to wait until the "after-hours" clubs open up when some of the scariest people Nashville has to offer come out and cruise around and walk around naked - to get into these clubs, you have to be willing to party with 15 year olds using fake ids and getting frisked at the door. Wait a second, there is ONE bar that is a blast where you can dance. It's the gay bar. Although I love it there, I can't meet straight single guys. If you like live music, there's more than enough country bars with bands - but they get old quick. I lived there for 5 years and the men I met out were often old guys on business trips or college kids that weren't able to handle their alcohol. The single people that I do meet often have kids, have been divorced or are gay. I have given this place a chance - I have lived in different parts of Nashville and it is all the same!! My single girlfriends totally agree with me. So, if you're a single guy you might have some luck here - the girls are gorgeous and are willing to settle for any guy (especially if he has money or a music business connection). But, if you want a down-to-earth normal guy, you'll have a lot of competition because they are few and far between!!!
