I guess it is a love learned

I read all of these comments and must say that I disagree with these people's perception of "quality of life." I would hate to live in one of these straight laced cities that shuts down at 11pm. There is always something to do in this city no matter what time. I'm not much of a drinker or partier but I do love being able to hear live music every night of the week. We are not just talking about one or two venues and genres. I will agree that the school system needs a complete overhaul and the major politicians are absolute crooks. (My last mayorial vote was for the lesser of two evils, then again I can't say that my last presidential vote was any different.) New Orleans is not for everyone and this is why we have suburbs. The areas outside New Orleans (Metairie, Destrehan, Laplace, Mandeville, etc...) can be just as "white bread" and boring as any other God fearing community. All in all New Orleans just like her food has a flavor of its own. Some can handle the spice and some can't. This is not a city for the weak of mind, heart, or soul. New Orleans - Proud to call it home.
