Review of New Orleans, Louisiana

99% of Murders in N.O. are Drug Related Gangs
Star Rating - 8/18/2007
The murder rate after Katrina went sky high due to Drug Gangs taking over new territory.
Tourists are pretty much safe as long as they stay in the right areas.
Do Not Stray. Remain in public places or take a taxi...it's cheap.
Do Not get too drunk to where you are out of control...That will make you an easy target for criminals. Do not leave your drink unattended.
These rules apply to everyone in every city. You never know who the Jeffrey Damah is until it's too late. Keep your hand over your drink and never leave it on the bar or table then come back and drink it.
The Jeffrey Damahas wait for you to use the restroom or dance.

The Major Crime Problems are within the System.
Elected Officials are so greedy they don't care about the residents until they are up for reelection.
Black or White...today we are all riding in the back of the bus.
We don't have any say so and the Officials Make the Rules and change them at any given time.
$90,000 cash in the freezer is nothing compared to the Road Home Stealing $20,000 PER GRANT...and no one does anything about it.
Officials look the other way and allow the actual victims of Katrina to suffer. The Company Hired to Give the Grant Money gave grants to people who did not qualify while the real victims suffer, remaining outside looking into their homes.
Road Home is making millions in interest and they don't want to part with this money.
The USA gave this money to us and they don't want to part with it.
Last 3 Insurance Commissioners in Louisiana....went to prison.
Insurance Companies are really taking Advantage of Katrina Victims because Louisiana is one of the few States That Does NOT Have Punitive Damages.
They've nothing to loose.

The Attorneys Hired to sue the Insurance Companies for denying Katrina Claims are makeing deals with the Insurance Company.
They're selling us out and trying to talk us into settling for 10 cents on a dollar instead of five cents that they offered.
After the Homeowner pays the Attorney fees, they still don' have enough to repair their homes.
Trial Dates are booked thru 2008.
LA Officials just made a law that Homeowners can not sue their Insurance Company for the Levee Breach.
We're not suing for water damage....we're suing for Wind Damage.

Contractor Fraud is everywhere and it's almost impossible to prosecute these creeps that have flocked here to pick our bones.

It is pretty safe in New Orleans as long as you don't deal drugs.
