I have lived here for a while (off and on) for the last several years. I just decided to purchase my home this year. I like the laid back lifestyle, and yes, the traffic has gotten worse, but its still A LOT better than other cities where I have been. Just relax and enjoy the ride, its not too bad. the Malls are great, the movie theaters are everywhere, and the parks and golf courses are decent. If you are retired or active duty military, there are plenty of hospitals around and plenty to do. I like Newport News... Its home.
