Review of Olivette, Missouri

Olivette, a St. Louis family gem!
Star Rating - 5/3/2009
Olivette is a jewel in the St. Louis area. It is the most affordable town in the sought after Ladue School district. Our neighborhood elementary is a wonderful community of exceptional teachers and great down to earth families. Old Bonhomme is also the most diverse school in the district. Our yearly school auction is so much fun for all of us. Young families have been steadily repopulating this former baby boom town for a decade. Housing here ranges from apartments, to three bedroom ranches, to luxury new tear-down/rebuild homes. Olivette is centrally located in the St. Louis Metro area. Close to everything--highways, mall, downtown. We are 15-20 minutes from our world class Symphony, Broadway shows at the Fox Theatre, Cards, BLues, and Rams games etc. We have great youth and adult sports leagues. Great parks. We have an involved police chief who lives right down the street. With the help of some recent leadership changes, years of less-than-progressive city planning are finally making way for more retail/ commercial development. Still have to go to a mile or two to Clayton or Creve Ceour to the grocery store. I am not from Missouri, and I have lived all over the country. This is a great place to raise a family.
