Review of Orlando, Florida

An absolute living HELL
Star Rating - 5/17/2007
I've lived in 7 cities and traveled all over the United States and this place is by far the worst place in America. I only live here because I am divorced and my ex-wife who is an idiot (she fits in) moved here with my son.
Climate--Worst in the country--95 degrees and humid 225 days a year. If the newspaper says the high is 88 it is actually 95. I think Disney bribes someone to lie about the weather to attract more tourists. The crime is horrible. Since Puerto Ricans love theme parks they have all moved here. Unfortunately Puerto Rico has one of the highest murder rates in the world; now Orlando does too. There is no culture because the average IQ of the average local is about 50. Who else would move to the only city in Florida without a beach except for the "theme park mentality." The food is the worst I have ever tasted. It is 100% chain restaurants or dogfood which is price gauged because everyone assumes anyone who eats here will not be back. This place is a cultural abyss and the people are as provincal as any on earth. Somehow they got a professional sports team but the average fan doesn't even know the rules of basketball and is more concerned with a free t-shirt than any knowledge of the game. The city has more tolls than any city in the state and the worst traffic because of the worst designed roads in America. I feel like I have a prison sentence stuck here. I've lived in seven places and this is the first place I've ever lived that doesn't have a single redeaming quality. If it wasn't for Disney World nobody would live here and the people that came here for Disney, you wouldn't want to live with. The only thing I can compare Orlando to is Atlantic City a mile west of the coast. Here is the keeper, housing costs are off the charts. Not only is this place a dump, you pay though the nose to live here. If you are thinking about moving here, don't, you will ruin your life. Orlando is truly hell on earth.

As a Puerto Rican, I am so highly offended by your idiotic and uneducated comments. What I think after reading your extremely hurtful comments is that you are a very bitter and unhappy person. Do me a favor, do not make general statements about a race you so obviously do not know anything about. Stick to generic comments about the city. I also lived in Orlando, and it seemed there was a huge population of all types of latins, whites, blacks, asians, africans, jamaicans, etc. Your total lack of knowledge as to the different races is indicative of your lack of education. Keep your racial comments to yourself in the future. It is people like you that make this country not able to move forward culturally.

I have lived in Orlando since 1960. Once described as a small central Florida town famous for bass fishing. Now the armpit of the southeastern U.S. Ask any Puerto Rican who John Young Parkway is named for and they won’t know. It’s just another street to race up and down and cut other vehicles off. And to take ATVS and illegal dirt bikes on to terrorize motorists.
