I lived in Orlando for 16 years..I loved it at first, but something has caused Orlando to go downhill..It has high Crime, high taxes, poor schools, (I am a teacher) Houses and rentals are too high, income is low, traffic is bad, gangs are rapidly growing. It is not safe anymore. I remember when I was telling my friends that I was moving, because of the crime, their response to me was, "well crime is up and the same all over the USA" That is absolutley not true..They do not want to admit it. Orlando needs to clean up the city before it is too late.
I moved out of Florida 11 months ago, to Alpharetta, Ga. It is absolutley blissful here, just the most beautiful place I have lived. Alpharetta has so much to offer, big beautiful homes, low crime, good income, low taxes, plenty of restaurants, Art, culture, great shopping, good schools, beautiful scenery, nice seasons, short drive to the montains. If you want a good place to live, try Alpharetta/ Jones Creek/ Milton, in Ga. If we move out of this area, we will go to someplace like Asheville, NC or more North. We will never live back in Fl.
If you vacation in Orlando, be very careful..YOU are the top target for car jackings and theft..Do not listen to the cute ads to bring you to Disney and Universal..They are not going to let you know you are unsafe there..
