Living In Central Florida

The cost of living is getting way out of hand these days. On average a two bedroom apartment will cost you from $750 (in a bad neighborhood) to $1100 in a better area.
The law enforcement is great here but under paid and over worked. I feel safe in most parts of twon BUT I am always careful and there are a lot of areas I just will not even go into.
The school zoning has much to be improved. you MUST be very careful when renting or buying a home to check the school zones. Just because you are closer to a school does not mean that will be the school you are zoned for. We are zoned for a school over 10 miles from my home and have to drive past three schools to get to it! AND it is a D school where as the other three are A schools.
The housing costs are out ragiouse too. You can not find a home any where in Orange county for under $200,000 ! And even driving many miles out from Orlando it is still over priced.
My suggestion would be to look at Alachua County. The cost of living is much better there and no tourist there.
