Review of Orlando, Florida

Job Market
Star Rating - 1/26/2011
First thing, first. I've been in Florida all of my life over 30 years. I consider myself a Florida expert. Everyone knows we have the best weather and beaches in the U.S. The one thing we lack is JOBS! Unless you have a career job or own your own business, Florida is not the place to move to. And even if you do have a career job, Florida pays less then any other state. So unless you are retiring or on vacation this is not the place to make money.

Happy state searching! I hope that helped you make your decision.

P.S. I'm considering move to Charlotte, NC. Help me out if you know something.

I just moved to Orlando,Fl from Brooklyn, NY. There are new jobs posted everyday on the Internet. I know because I look on the Internet. True, if you have a career it is easier to find a job but also you need a license and a car. If you do not have a license, car or a career then it will be difficult for you to find a job. My husband does not have a high school diploma but he has a license and we have a car and he found a job quick. Where I live it is quite and I have not seen no crime here in Florida compared to NYC where there is crime happening everyday. I agree all the way with the comments made by Don't Complain! - 4/8/2011 because I too lived in NYC all my life. Everything in New York City is so expensive and there is filth everywhere you look. I don't understand why it is so expensive yet so dirty. People here in Orlando are so friendly and kind. In New York if you look at someone or bump into a person you will get beat up or even killed. I don't agree with the comment made by Truth how bad Orlando, really is - 3/18/2011 especially when the person said let Orlando, Fl burn to the ground. I am extremely happy that we moved to Orlando, Fl. It is cheaper to live and you can shop at Walmart and get everything you need at an affordable price. We went with Direct General auto insurance and they gave us a cheap price for auto insurance. We have cable direct tv and we pay a cheap price. Don't get bright house network because there price is expensive just like New York City. Whoever wants to move here don't pay attention to the negative comments here. Come to Orlando, Fl and see for yourself if you want to move here. So many people were telling me and my husband not to move to Florida. People were saying there are no jobs in Florida that is not true and people were also saying that Florida pays less. We did not listen to people and we made the move. We are happy we did. Our daughter is for the first time in an "A" school in a great neighborhood where she is learning more then she did in New York. Public schools in New York are not good. Everything is so fast paced in New York. New York City rents are rising and people's salaries are not going up. For a studio, one, two or three bedroom apartment you will pay $1,200 sometimes more. In some places the rent is $2,000 and you get a small, roach invested or rat invested apartment. There are no dining rooms or patios in New York City apartments. Now compare that to Florida's rent and there apartments are big. You are constantly moving and quick. That is another reason why we moved because we got tired of that life. Florida is beautiful and has a relaxing life style. Mears taxi is hiring, food service is hiring, security jobs, etc. Look on indeed.com, careerbuilder.com, orlando jobs, etc. Like my husband said if you don't look for a job you are not going to find it. A job is not going to come to you. Even if you get payed less at less you will be able to survive and live in Florida. You have to learn how to budget and live within your means. If you live within your means you will be happy and not struggle. But if you go outside your means and budget of course you will struggle. Don't get a mansion, lexus, and buy expensive things if you can not afford it. Everyone wants luxury but if you can't afford it what can you do. Like I said don't listen to the negative comments come to Orlando, Fl and see for yourself that Florida is a wonderful place to live!!!!!!
