Orlando: Surprisingly Livable

We moved to Orlando from LA and Atlanta in 2002 for my job - it was just supposed to be for a couple of years but now we are thinking about making this our permanent home base into retirement. We have found lots of good friends and cultural opportunities for our hobbies in music and art. We live far from the theme parks and endless stip malls surrounding them. Our neighborhood is one of many that is old, charming, full of wildlife and lush with trees. The median age is younger here than in most parts of Florida. The summers are long and hot but there are still more nice days than not. The airport goes everywhere, the medical facilities are plentiful and we can't really find to omuch to complain about.
