At first we thought this was an ok neighbourhood. All families that have lived here a while, no dealing with new construction, older houses. Personally I like the sound of the train about a half mile from us, but since its several times a day others might not. Theres a decent park with a playground, basketball courts, picnic area thats not too bad. Too bad services are APS, but we get either centurylink or cox for cable/internet. My tmobile phone works well here too. Big plus: no HOA.
After 3 years...
The recycling plant burns twice a day, plus any other factories around here. The smell will make you sick if you're lucky. The migraines from the chemical burnoff, well thats just an extra gift.
Stray animals everywhere. I've had dogs with distemper nearly dead wander into my yard, litteres of puppies covered in hundreads of ticks abandoned at my house, and called animal control for dead animals in the roads. Seei g people mistreat their dogs and how they're left to wander and fend for themselves is awful. I think theres an average of 15 dogs wandering here a day. Animal control doesn't come here for strays, they've told me its a waste of time.
Anytime is a good time here for loud music, especially if it rattles the neighbours windows. Itcan be radios or full on bands. This starts at 8am and can go till 2am any day of the week.
Wer have a condemned house on our street that used to be a meth lab, now its where all its previous users squat. Someone from that house broke into our yard and stole about $300 worth of tools.
When my niece and nephew moved in and were going to go to school here, the local elementary school rates a 3, which from what I was told, is pretty bad.
The police are on our street pretty often. We hear gunshots at least once a week. Also, we've been notified of 3 sex offenders that live within a mile of us.
