I lived in Phoenix for 10 years......definitely a sh!thole. I moved and tried Tempe, another sh!thole and now I live in Tucson......well it is different and a bit cooler and wetter, and prettier but it is still a sh!thole.......What causes this phenomenon is the state government run by Mormons.....yes they have ruined this state too. Do not come here. It is a right to work red state, which means you have no rights. Very bad medical, abusive employers and a corrupt governor and government.

What right to work means is that you have choice. There is a reason auto workers in right to work states have voted against the UAW in 30 straight elections. You might also notice job creation rates in right to work states are 2x what they are in the other states. Go back to blue if it makes you happy, you won't find me there.
