Pleasanton has the lowest crime statistics in all of Alameda County. The city has many amenities and still boasts very little violent crime. With a 2006 population of approximately 70,000 residents Pleasanton hosts over 150,000 people during a typical week day. During a busy Alameda County Fair venue weekend, that might grow to 175,000 people. Murders are usually 1-2 every three YEARS. Stranger rapes are 1-2 per year. There are a siginificant number of property crimes, but many are against victims that are unaware of their surroundings and leave valuables in cars or hotel rooms. With those crime stats and population base your chances of being victimized are very small.
