Review of Portland, Oregon

Climate in Portland is not so bad
Star Rating - 9/15/2011
I went there to visit and visited during summer and the weather was wonderful compare to Texas. Try visiting Texas during the summer and compare it to Oregon because the weather in oregon is so much more comfortable and I was not even using the A/C in my car. I have visit Oregon during spring and winter before and I didn't think its was that bad and yeah its a little cloudy and wet and some days were clear. One nice thing about Portland in winter is much warmer than most part of Tx and its warmer than colorado. Of course the mountains of oregon is cold and snows a lot but in the valley of oregon is pretty mild and I didn't feel uncomfortable. Nov Dec Jan and Feb are the most wettest months in Portland and from April to middle of Oct is really nice weather compare to Tx and some rainy days but not as much as winter. In Texas its so hot and humid from early June until late sept. I much rather live somewhere where the summer can be so nice and not live some where that summer is awful like in Tx. I can take a wet winter like portland and the nice summer in Portland. I don't why people leave a comments that winter is pretty awful in Portland during the winter because its didn't bother me at all and its was rainy sometimes and some clear to partly cloudy days during winter. But yeah most of the time its cloudy during the winter than summer in Portland and the rest of the country is more cloudy during winter than summer. Portland and the rest of oregon is the most beautiful place I have ever visited and I am thinking of moving there soon because the climate there is so much better than Tx and Oregon is much prettier than Tx. I don't have to worry about drought problems in Oregon because in Tx we are having serious on going problems with drought and its a real problem with water. I am done with Tx and moving to Oregon soon because I like it there a lot and visited there many times to make sure if that the place I want to move to and I made up my mind that Oregon is the place I want to live in the near future.

My respond to Dubhbairn from Austin Tx is that I have not move out of Austin area yet but will move out this late spring or early summer. I went to visit Oregon recently last month of Feb 2012 and its was really nice the weather was a little cold but not very windy like in Texas. There was some rain sometimes and some snow in mountains but its wasn't bad and some days were very sunny and not a cloud in a sky and then the next day some clouds returns. Its rain a lot for three days before I came there and after I left the weather was rainy on and off so I came and visit the right time and lucky did not have to deal with any bad weather. Overall its was a very nice visit and then when I can back to Texas its was very warm 92 degree and very strange that its 25 degree above normal while the temp was near normal in Oregon every time I visit Oregon.

Just wanted to know if you did indeed move up there and if so how is it. ? My family and I are thinking of moving to Oregon or Washington State; my hubby is in school online at OSU and we love the northwest. We went up to Vancouver BC and Alaska and loved those areas.. However, -50 in Alaska is not worth it to us but we understand the TEXAS drought situation and I, myself, am ready to get the heck out of dodge here. In 10 years at the rate we are at now in TEXAS unless we get a lot of rain consistently for the next 4 years; we will be Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.. Dead and dried up!!! I grew up in Austin and I have NEVER seen it this bad. If anything we used to get beautiful storms and heavy downpours that made the spring/summer wonderful even in the heat! I do not trust the ecosystem here anymore. It is breaking down. Post on here if you ever did get out of Leander.. :)
